Topless (Yeah)
New jeans on the calf, fit it on the dash, pocket full of cash
Topless
'Round here we be ridin' topless

From the lyrics we can see that the artists has tried to follow the theme of a traditional hip hop artist, for example there are certain icons that are involved within the lyrics, for example we see that the use of women, alcohol and money is used. This tells us that the song is something you expect from an original Hip Hop artist  looking back at the lyrics I would say that the target audience that they provide for which is 14 – 19 year olds, I would say the lyrics are on par and would be something that there target audience would enjoy and love.

Section 3 – Analysing the music

The music to topless is not to slow buts it’s not too fast, the song is something you would listen to through your headphones, and it’s not a song you play at a party or anything like that. The music is repeated twice as the lyrics do the same thing. However the music seems to be very catchy and music that you would listen to all the time. I wouldn't necessarily say that the music is upbeat but I would say that the music has a good beat and it gave me the sense of relaxation. As we know that the target audience is 14-19 year olds I think the pace and beat of the music is perfect, this type of music is something this target audience would appreciate and enjoy.

Section 4 – Analysing the tempo

Listening to the song there are many words you could use to describe it, some of the words that came to mind straight away where, relaxing, consistent, constant, steady and each element added to the song was balanced out really well.

Section 5 – How would I turn this into a music video?

Looking at all the elements I have analysed, I think that making a music video would not be difficult but it wouldn't be easy, I would make a video that illustrates the lyrics but something that is not narrative due to some of the lyrics overlapping each other. I would also add Voyeurism to the video as I would want to gain the males viewers’ attention. but then saying that, with songs in the present days, they mostly attract both genders attention, so i would make the visual aspect of the video video, for example, i would potentially have some eye candy too.

Creating my artist's identity

Jackie Boyz
The Jackie Boyz  are currently signed to two record labels, their names are Apartment 4 Publishing and Mall B Publishing, both affiliated with ASCAP, as well as their production company Jackie Boyz Entertainment, LLC.

Jackie Boyz is a boy band consisting of two brothers, who are both singer/songwriters, they are group from Los Angles. Looking back at their motivation to sing and record songs comes from their mother who sadly has passed away, they say they express their love for their mother through the music they produce and sing.  They started writing and producing their own music at the age of 14 and 16, using the teachings of their mother, who taught them how to sing professionally they began to sing at small gigs like birthday party's and at church. Unfortunately their mother sadly passed away leaving them with a talent that people would kill for. So today they continued making music but using there mothers inspiration to carry on doing it.
 The Jackie Boyz:
·         The two brothers names are:
  • Los - Singer/Songwriter
  • Stevie - Singer/Songwriter

  • Clothing I would like to see them wear:
The clothes I am going to choose would be something that is not unique but something that would set a trend, so the main aim of the clothes I am going to choose would be simple but elegant.

The reason I chose the blazer is because currently blazers are in trend and this is something that people would look up to. I am going to use this V neck jumper to put under the blazer as I think it would look very trendy. This is the shirt I would like the band to wear under the jumper as I went with the grey theme I figured that the white would work really well. These are the jeans I am going to use with my blazer and shirt trend; I think this would go very well with my jeans and suit to their target audience. The trainers I would use to go with my outfit would be these grey and white blazers as it would go with the grey and white theme and also look very good.

    I

chose a white jumper as I think it would look very trendy and something that there target audience would expect them to wear. With this trend I think my artists would look unique, especially with the purple and white theme, again looking at the target audience that the artist want to reach out too, I think the clothes I chose would appeal to them very well. I also involved the purple as I thought it would be something different, and it would also stick out against the white jumper. I also made sure that the accessories I had chosen to go with the clothes where purple as I think with today's fashion trend this would work really well and the groups fan base would pick up on this.

When thinking about the typography I would choose in the artist logo, I would go for something that looks very slick, a logo that requires not much attention but something that sticks into someone’s head so they can remember it. I am going to show you some samples of what I want my logo to look similar too.
As you can see looking at all of these logo, they have things that are similar to each other, the thing I wanted to find was something that wasn’t to detailed but appealed to my target audience. I also looked at colours that where vibrant and would represent the bands identity. We can see this again if we look at other logos such as the Imagine Dragons logo, PSY, beats by Dr.Dre and the Avicii logos.

Whilst sticking to the hip hop stereotypes you would expect to see things like, cars and women in my video. The reason for this is because when looking at my chosen song’s lyrics they mention these things. And from my research I think adding these on would illustrate the video and give a sense of narration to it. The first thing I would have is cars, as there are 2 brothers I would have 4 just for the sakes of showing off and telling the public that they have money. Other things I would have would be the clothes they wear, this would mean that the clothing would be baggy and loads of jewellery.

I would also add women to the video as this would generate eye candy and gain male viewers.
The next thing I would look at is the colours I would use to promote my artists, this would consist of colours such as lilac and purple, the reason for this is because I think they look very good and trendy but can also go with most formal colours. Other colours I would choose would be light grey, black and white, the reason for this is because I think they would all work well with the purple and would appeal to the target audience.

After listening to the song, a lot of things came to mind. Some of these things where just the general stereotypes, so things like cars, women and money.  More things is people being topless due to him actually saying it over and over again. I also pictured someone who has lots money and is well dressed with expensive clothing. The location I would say would be on a sunny highway in Los Angles.

The person I would want to be in the music video is someone who looks similar to tinny temper because I think the clothing and the genre is something that would fit him perfectly.

    99 dollar music videos

    99 dollar music videos

99 dollar Music Videos showcases music videos from today’s best independent bands and up-and-coming filmmakers, all made with a budget of under $99. Including filming, special effects and all other resources needed to make a decent music video. However when doing this the artists or band must complete their filming and editing processes within 24 hours.

    There ethos:
The aim 99 dollar music videos have set themselves is to help an artist or band create a music video that is presentable to the general public. By doing this they hope that a record label will see the video and hopefully offer them a contract. Within the sum of 99 dollars they offer everything from recording and sound equipment to software’s to help you edit the video to the best of its ability but also make it look brilliant.
This is also a general boost for the public, not many people with talent are able to create a high tech music video, that could possibly make them noticed by a record dealer.
Looking at the 99 dollar Tumblr page and there YouTube page the genres really vary from country to everyday R&B, the quality of the videos we can see that the effort that is applied is very great and there something that you would expect to see on a music channel.
Looking back to their YouTube page, there are videos on how a certain music video is made, from these videos we can see that the relationship between the artists and the company is very strong, looking at this video the editors work very closely with the artist to create the best possible video.
    see "1:10" for my example.
On their YouTube page 99 dollars have created a challenge where people can make a music video whilst trying to meet the requirements with a budget under 99 dollars. By doing this they make the audience be part of them.
Looking at this video as an example we can see that the video is very visually appealing with the special effects so in my opinion I think the videos they create are up to a professional standard and would make the artist be recognized.

looking on Unsigned.com I had found an artist and band that I would like to use for my music video, so I sent an email to ask for permission to use there song in my music video for educational purposes. the image below shows the email I sent to them.
